POLLINATE

- BRAND ENGAGEMENT

The brief:

Tell me a great story. Give me an incredible experience. Let me participate.

Te Papa was opening the new Mahuki Innovation Hub and was looking for a front facing public interface. Through extensive user research we found the presence of Te Papa within the Wellington city community lacking.  Advertisement of new events and exhibitions were not reaching a large portion of the Wellington population.

We developed and proposed ‘Pollinate’ - bright forms inspired by microscopic pollen dispersed throughout targeted areas of the city using urban intervention and technology that showcased and informed the public of the innovation hub. The Pollen would engage the community through fun activities that encouraged participation, live streamed back to Te Papa’s innovation hub. The potential for how the pollen could be used are endless and could evolve alongside other projects, also allowing opportunity for innovators within the hub to use the interface for live testing.
